Jazz Jackrabbit 2: Holiday Hare 98 is a special version of Jazz Jackrabbit 2 released in 1998 in North America only. This release features a unique episode with three Christmas-themed levels as well as unique multiplayer levels. Unlike the Holiday Hare releases of the first game this was not available as shareware but rather a full retail release.
In the subsequent year this version was reissued and re-released as Jazz Jackrabbit 2: The Christmas Chronicles, receiving a limited release in Europe only. This version uses the 1.24 engine version from the Secret Files release and therefore adds all of its updates, including the addition of Lori Jackrabbit as a playable character. It also includes the Jazz Creation Station, which was not available in the original Holiday Hare release.
