There are two types of these fierce sword-shaped baddies. The first Ghost Rapier flies straight at you, the second floats around seeking rabbit flesh.

Jazz Jackrabbit[]
The Ghost Rapiers are basically giant floating swords. They will either float left and right on a open area or fly straight forward on the narrow corridors.
Jazz Jackrabbit 2[]
Ghost Rapiers are very different in this game, appearing as white specters carrying swords. They act much like the Bumbling Bees from Diamondus, attacking when the player gets close then returning to their previous position. They can also go through walls when their attack phase begins. A flamethrower is most effective when dealing with these ghosts.
